Work At Home Mom With A Sick Kid

As a work at home mom, I have been provided with a great opportunity to earn by means of working online.  Aside from that, I get to experience a huge amount of time to be with my family especially when my child is sick.

My son had been sick for a couple of days and I need to work double time to meet both my responsibilities at home and my career online. The past few days were like a circus, we were in the midst of tending our sick child who has had cough, fever, and colds.

I tried to finish my tons of work early so I can attend to my son’s needs and stay beside him every single minute of the day. He had cried all day – feeling uncomfortable because of his bad coughs. Also, I have to deal with terrible back pain. This was my dilemma ever since. Once I got tired, my back will start to ache like crazy and it is really the hardest thing for me. Not to mention, my husband and I were like zombies because of insufficient sleep but life must go on. After all, this is why I work at home to take care of my family’s health. I can attend to my sick child even when I’m working at home simultaneously.

Fortunately, I got to patch things up and maneuvered an effective schedule to balance my work and my family at once. One essential key point for a WAHM like me is I need to manage my time seriously by following a system that will make both of my career and family go smoothly.

Well, even if I’m a WAHM for quite long years it will still come to a point that it is pretty hard for me to handle things at once. But even if I am torn with all the stuffs that I do, I will never be tired when it comes to my child. Thank God, Drexx is feeling a lot better now.

Hardships of a Work at Home Mom

Whoever said that being a man is better than being a woman? Well perhaps they just don’t see the hardships of the working moms. If being a worker is hard, try doing it while taking care of the family especially if you have a little child. Then maybe you would learn why the equality rights of the male and female was established.

Yes, being a working mom is perhaps as difficult as being a man or even harder. If men face battles and challenges in their work, women face twice as much as that, facing a war that starts from waking up in their home and being done until everyone in the family has gone to bed. This war is much more stressful than that being fought in Iraq due to the fact that you are protecting not only yourself but rather those whom you love the most and serving each and every one of the members. And also, the enemy is not just from the outside but also on the inside, meaning, you have to fight even yourself just to serve and protect.

Members of the family always demand for some time from the mother and thus making it harder for her to concentrate on what she is doing. The little ones, in particular, hug most of a mother’s time because they are the ones that truly need much attention. And this comic strip is a picture of what a working mother is going through each day of her life. If you’d be able to look beyond what you can see, you’ll be able to realize that her life is a mathematical expression where everything in her surroundings adds to her hardships and almost everything that she feels are the ones that multiply the stress. But in the end of the day, her love for those whom she serves is the only thing that makes her at ease and neglect all the efforts that she made throughout the day.

Work at Home Mom and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Are you tired being a career woman and at the same time a mother to your children? Are you a suffering from too many demands and pressures? There are so many women these days that are breaking in to the workforce and few of them are “moms.” Although you may have not reckoned it yet, you are actually working more than the usual working hours of 9 – 5 hours! Due to this, work at home moms are very prone to stress and extreme weariness cause by attempting to balance between career life, family and social life. Worries and stress can make work at home mom feel weak and tired.

Stress has long been aligned to several health issues, both the severe and recurring illnesses like heart attack, arthritis, and eczema. The possible health problems you may acquire from working at home are RSI or repetitive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome. What you may not figure out is that those things and many more can become a health issue for you when you work for home.

One of the most commonly recognized work at home health problems is carpal tunnel syndrome. The carpal tunnel is the spot within your wrist where the nerve goes into the hand. It is commonly slender and so any swelling can cramp the nerve and can result so numbness, muscle pain, weakness and worst muscle damage and this is referred as carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is very ordinary to those people who execute repetitive actions of the hand or wrist. Typing on a keyboard of a computer or laptop is actually the most common cause of this syndrome. Other repetitive works which may contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome include sewing, knitting, writing, and painting.

The best way to cure carpal tunnel syndrome is to restrain your hand from repetitive movements. In most situations, this can be done by limiting repetitive movements of hands like in typing, sewing and knitting. Another way to prevent it is by simply stretching your hand along with your wrist and fingers the rest of the day. You might also avoid further symptoms by stabilization of the fingers.

It would be disastrous if the comfort of working at home can in fact be harmful to our health, however by simple measures like stretching your hands and extreme exercise can help to assure that this is not a problem. Stay healthy!

Why Working From Home Is Both Awesome And Horrible

Yes, I agree with this comic made by the Oatmeal. It’s a bit exaggerated but it is true. You may go crazy if you don’t go out and interact with other people. It is important to have a normal balance of your life in all aspects. I enjoy my simple life but of course I also miss my outside life. But I have to say, I love my online career right now. I won’t go back to working in an office for any amount of money. Working at home is just a matter of SELF-DISCIPLINE. So far, I haven’t found this to be a problem at all.
