Do You Want To Be A Freelance Writer WAHM?

There are so many opportunities on the web, some are real and some are bogus. You might want to test the waters first by starting out as a freelance writer WAHM (Work At Home Mom). It is one of the most flexible and cost effective way to start your online career as it does not require start-up costs which you might find on most of the online jobs available on the web.

You do not need to have a college degree to be a writer as you can choose first the topics you are interested in like fashion, arts, technology, food, travel and the likes. There is no difficulty in doing something you love. Aside from your desire to write about something you are interested in, you would need the following:

  • Personal computer / laptop
  • Internet connection
  • Website or a blog site for showcase of your writing ability

You do not need to have a professional experience in writing as well but you have to know one important thing in web writing. Most of your article should have SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or strategically placed keywords that are required by all clients to create traffic in your blog or article.

You may want to start writing for your own blog to practice your writing ability. This will also be an important site to show you prospective clients if they ask about writing experiences or samples.

With the basic information posted above, you are now ready to look for a client. You may want to look for a blogger (or a blogger friend to start with) who needs a writer. An experienced friend can be a great help to point out the mistakes you might have made for your first article. You would need pointers from them.

Note that the most important key in freelance writing is HAVING THE TIME and DETERMINATION to finish it and to earn money for your family.

WAHM vs SAHM

Mothers usually spend most of their time inside the house, but their activities differ based how they prefer to spend their time.

Some Moms occupy their time by simply being a full time mom. By this I mean that she does the duty of a typical mom and almost all of the responsibility inside the house. This is possible because a typical mom controls his own time without being bothered by anything that might consume his valuable moment to spend with the family. And of course, the implication of this adequacy in time spent with the family is an improved family relationship, by which you could be able to monitor almost all of the updates in the lives of the family members, and hence, the attitude of everyone inside the family could be improved specially the children. And also, with greater time spent with the family, greater care is given to the family members and the higher comfort that they would feel because no other person can give a better comfort than a mother, right? But being a stay at home mom also has its consequences, one of which is that no profit would be gained by the mother which means that no financial support could be given to the family aside from that which is derived from the father’s wages.

Another type of mom could be known as WAHM or the work at home mom. They are the ones who take the risk of doubling their efforts for an additional profit to support the needs of the family; they are the ones that prefer to support their families by choosing to work inside their home, these works which I am referring to could be freelance working. And these types of mothers are the ones that I look up to the most because although there time is divided between work and the family, they still manage to maintain a good relationship between their families and to serve them at her best. It is indeed tiresome to manage the time spent with the people you love and the time spent in work, but still they have the strength within themselves to serve their family with an engraved smile on their faces and a loving heart.

Why Working From Home Is Both Awesome And Horrible

Yes, I agree with this comic made by the Oatmeal. It’s a bit exaggerated but it is true. You may go crazy if you don’t go out and interact with other people. It is important to have a normal balance of your life in all aspects. I enjoy my simple life but of course I also miss my outside life. But I have to say, I love my online career right now. I won’t go back to working in an office for any amount of money. Working at home is just a matter of SELF-DISCIPLINE. So far, I haven’t found this to be a problem at all.
